There are a few casinos in the commonwealth, the majority on docked scows. The grandest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian casino in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gaming space, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, like 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous styles of poker; including three restaurants, monthly entertainment, and gaming classes. An additional big Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and fourteen table games. Additionally, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and 4 dining rooms. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a river boat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. Another Iowa riverboat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. riverboat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday 21 tournaments.

Iowa casinos provide a great amount of tax money to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of many state wide activities. Visitors have grown at an accelerated rate along with the demand for processors and a gain in jobs. Iowa gambling dens have been instrumental to the growth of the market, and the affection for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
